Whether Mr.Mutt with his own hands had made the fountain or not has no importance. He CHOSE it. He took an ordinary article f life, placed it so that its useful significance disappeared under the new titles and point of view - created a new thought for that object.

Sol LeWitt - Conceptual art is only good when the idea is good. Space can thought of as the cubic area occupied by a three-dimensional volume. Any volume would occupy space. It is air and cannot be seen. It is the interval between things that can be measured. When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfinctory affair.
