It was a nice little exhibition. Lots of colour and collage and I'm starting to understand the elitist stuff a bit more now, like when Mickey is used, I know what that means. I like his conversation about man and machine, very nice. Very much deals with cheesy surface like me. Alot of collecting me thinks, which is what I am starting to do. These collages seem like mental spaces which are constructed of lots of different images, they remind of the way I store images and mental things in the head but their not really there. You definately recognise the shapes and things but it's not real because it doesnt exist.
It's a very modernist way of making work. From reading these post modern books Im starting to understand that he's possibly exploring the modernism theology using collage which is a postmodern technique, the nostalgia, looking back mixing things up...very surfacey. But this machine this progression bettering oneself idea. Yes. I think I get it. for once. lol Definately figurative.
